Every time I have a burst of work on MakeMaker I have to dig all over the Internet to find the documentation for the various makes we deal with. And then, inevitably, I forget where they are and have to go and do it again.
So I've decided this time to archive it all. http://www.makemaker.org/make_docs/ With a little googling and the help of vmsperl I've got a bunch already. At the moment the important ones I'm missing are... Solaris make Microsoft nmake 1.5 (ie. the crappy old one you can download for free) And it would be nice to have... Anything at all about NetWare. MPW (sure, why not?) Whatever make you happen to be using that isn't on the list. Also, if someone is feeling ambicious, it wouldn't hurt to have a pile of C compiler documentation for those that enjoy spelunking into the XS build code. Shell and filesystem documentation wouldn't hurt either. Since 80% of coding for MakeMaker is knowing how to write portable code, the Grand Vision is to have some sort of archive of portable make, C, shell and Perl techniques. Step one is to gather a pile of docs. -- Michael G Schwern [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pobox.com/~schwern/ michael schwern is not
