New ExtUtils-MakeMaker release?

Any chance of releasing a new ExtUtils-MakeMaker with core perl change 
#29266 integrated into it? That allows ExtUtils-MakeMaker builds to work 
better with VC8 on Win32.

I'd like to see that change in 5.8.9, which I believe won't happen 
unless a new CPAN ExtUtils-MakeMaker is released first.
