That only happens on install of MM, right, so it wouldn't be an issue
for the core.
Yes. And the core will have a newer version of Scalar::Util so it wouldn't
trigger it anyway.
For the record, the most current Scalar::Util releases do not ship the
PP fallback any longer. It simply wasn't worth the hassle considering
problems such as this.
