About 2,000 Palestinians in Gaza demonstrated in support of
Osama bin Laden, and Palestinian police broke up the
demonstration with gunfire, killing two or three.
Stung by televised images of Palestinians celebrating the
September 11 attacks, the Palestinian Authority has suppressed
reporting of such demonstrations, including threatening to kill
an AP cameraman if his Sept. 11 film was broadcast. (It was
not.) Now, faced with larger-scale demonstrations, the
P.A. has banned foreign reporters from Gaza.
