This one is (was) designed to prevent you from listening to your music CD in your computer. Someone discovered that you can circumvent this "protection" scheme by using a black felt-tip market to obscure areas on the CD. It is worth noting that, under the provisions of the DMCA, Sony could sue the manufacturer of the felt-tip pen in question, and obtain a court order forcing production of said pen to cease, as it now qualifies as a "copyright circumvention" device. -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do not | | necessarily represent the views or policy of any other person, entity or | | organization.
