as an aside, i live in ireland where i take home about 5% less then
i did in the states. for that i get a national healthcare system, a
welfare state and a sense that people care enough about their society
that they're willing to pay for it.
in case people wonder where their american tax dollars are going - the
us military has spent over $10,000 a second (yes, $10,000 per second)
since 1945. $19,000,000,000,000 since 1945. neat, huh? (btw, that's
from the cia worldfact book)
