Kemarin di trip mancing ada pertanyaan seputar Mono & Darcon.. Kebetulan
saya lagi browsing ke Marlinbar-nya Peter Pakula ada jawaban Peter
masalah ini.. mungkin berguna :
----------------------------

Mono:
High stretch: harder to hook fish but stretch helps keeps hook
      in.
Easy to knot and do doubles.
Though it will damage easily, damage easy to spot and feel.
Once more than 150yards out real contact and feel is gone. One
inch lost or gained is probably just one inch of stretch.

      Dacron:
Low (no) stretch: easier to hook up, but hard to avoid slack line
      and keep hooks in.
      Harder to knot or splice.
Fragile and damages easily. Damage harder to spot and feel.
Regardless of amount of line in the water, direct contact is
maintained. One inch lost or gained is one inch lost or gained.

Basically straight Dacron is harder to land fish on lures than
nylon as its hard to eliminate slack line, and when everything
comes tight its hard to eliminate the jerk as the line comes
tight. Longer, softer action rods help to some extent, but these
are harder to fight fish with.

Personally on line classes 50lb and under I use nylon all the way
through. On 80 and 130 I use Dacron with a top shot of 100 to 150
yards of nylon to get the best of both worlds.

      Peter
