New Penn Formula (TM) Series Reels Are First Graphites
To Feature Penns's Legendary Two Speed Lever Drag Performance

Saltwater anglers have long awaited the arrival of American-made
graphite reels offering Penn's world-renowned two speed
lever drag performance. With the introduction of the new-for-2001 Penn
Formula(TM) Series reels, there's no need to wait any
longer.

While the Formula(TM) two speed reels are light enough to fish with all
day long, they're no lightweights when it comes to
fighting the toughest bluewater gamefish around. Whether you're
challenging billfish on light tackle, taking on tuna, wahoo,
dolphin and California yellowtail, or battling tough bottom dwellers
like grouper and amberjack, Penn offers the perfect
Formula(TM) for success.

Anglers can choose between two new Formula(TM) Series models, 10KG and
15KG, designed for 20 and 30-pound class
fishing respectively. The Formula 10KG has the capacity to hold 800
yards of 20-pound test, while the larger Formula 15KG
model holds 600 yards of 30-pound test. Both reels feature a sleek,
polished graphite frame design that not only looks great, but is also
extremely strong and corrosion resistant.

Penn's famous two speed technology is now easier to use than ever,
thanks to a newly designed shifting system that lets you
switch gears -- even during the heat of battle --with the touch of a
button. Select the Formula's 3.8-1 high gear when a saltwater speedster
is making a beeline to the boat and you need to pick up line in a hurry.
Shift to the 2-1 low gear when winch-like power is needed to move a big,
stubborn gamefish in your direction.

Penn's Formula(TM) Series graphite two speeds are made with painstaking
attention to workmanship and detail. Use of only
the finest components ensures reliable fish-fighting performance at all
times. Four sealed stainless steel ball bearings provide unparalleled
smoothness for the long run, while high strength machined stainless
steel gears supply the dependable cranking power needed to land the most
determined saltwater predators.

When fighting big and powerful gamefish, the quality of your drag system
is of the utmost importance. That's why Penn has
equipped both of the new Formula(TM) reels with its famed
International(R)-style HT100(TM) lever drag system. An infinitely
adjustable pre-set control knob lets you dial in the right amount of
drag pressure according to the angling situation. The
120-degree arc lever allows you to conveniently and accurately control
drag pressure through three set stops--free spool,
strike and full.

Each Penn Formula(TM) Series two speed lever drag reel comes with its
own graphite rod clamp for easy, secure attachment.
Anglers can system match these reels with a variety of top quality rod
models from Penn's International(R), Tuna Stick(R),
Sabre(R) or Power Stick(R) families.
