Wimmin' expects to go out on Friday or Saturday nights, I said I can't and she said why not? I said 'cause I'll be on my way to the boat on Friday night so she said what 'bout Saturday night so I said I'll be driving back from SD all dirty tired and smell like fish. The last thing I need is to get clean up, pretending to be romantic and come visit you after a fishing trip... She said that's fine I'll just go out with another guy who would be "sensitive" and cater to my every needs instead..... Finally after a few days of coaxing to make her purr like a kitten, I finally got her into my car to go for some.... what else.... seafood. She sniffs as soon as she gets into the car and say "what's that smell?". Oh like a few day old fish blood on the carpet really offends anyone..... I assurred her that a human nose is very adaptable and she will not be able to smell the differences after a couple of hours. She looked at me kinda funny but did not say a thing. As we were driving down the freeway she started to squirm in her seat so I was getting kinda excited thinking she was getting HOT for me..... then she said "ouch" and pull from under her butt one of my 2/0 owner circle hook... she was getting a little pissed by now and wanting to throw the hook out of window, so I said "hey you realize those babies cost 50 cents a piece ??"... her face turn a little red and threw the hook on the floor... I made a mental note on where the hook fell and to be sure to pick it up later.
At the restaurant I could not believe these guys have the audacity to charge $25 for a mere 6 oz of piece of fillet!! I told her that we could've stay at my place and I can cook her 1 pound of fillet and would cost a whole lot less. She rolled her eyes and said "can you just forget about your fish for tonight?". When the waiter came over, I asked if they can cook my fish cerviche style instead, slightly cooked on the outside and still pink and raw on the inside - just the way they cook on the boat. The waiter gave me a blank stare and say "grill, bake, or fried only". When the fish came, it was dry, overcooked, and tasted like a piece of cardboard. I could've gotten better tasting fish on any SD quality LR boats. After dinner, I thought about asking her back to my place but then I remember I need to log on the computer and check the latest on fishing message board. Afterall, I am in a middle of this debate with some yahoo who think regular fuji guides are better than Aftco LWRs for Calstar 700M rod !! Anyone in his right mind knows LWR guides are better for reduced friction !! She asked before I drop her off "are you gonna call me about going out next weekend?" I said "yes dear"... she said "call me by wednesday, not anymore of this calling at the last minute stuff !!", I said "okay sweetie". As we kiss good night, I made a mental note to myself to check Bites On fish report before I call her on wednesday.
