Can anyone please point me to an online dictionary of Latin quotations? I have been asked to translate the state motto of New South Wales, "Orta recens quam pura nites". Official translations are not hard to find, but I suspect this is a quotation from a classical poet (other than Vergil) and that the feminine singular noun that the vocative "Orta" and "pura" agree with is probably "Luna". Any advice most welcome. Perhaps it would be better to write to me privately rather than to mantovano.
