I have an interesting question. What purpose does the ekphrasis in Book VI
(lines 20-36) play in the greater role of the Aeneid?? I understand that the
relationship between Pasiphae and the bull parallels Aeneas' relationship with
Dido, b/c both were forbidden. Also, the connection between Daedalus and
Icarus parallels the connection between Aeneas and Anchises. There is so much
left of the passage, though, that I just can't seem to grasp. If anyone has
any ideas, I would be delighted to hear them!! Thank you very much.

Clare
