I've just been listening to the Telarc recording of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas; Martin Pearlman and the Boston Baroque. Splendid performance of astonishingly fresh music. I know there are problems with this truncated rendition of Aeneid 4, but it is still fine stuff. I saw part of a performance of the work with a gay guy playing Dido. It was mysteriously convincing. Does anyone where I can get that or any other video of this? I haven't been able to find anything.
