Today I realized that we have quite a lot of development branches, which
is, in general, a good thing.
However I'm not sure if you are aware of the fact, that having a
development branch is nothing without keeping it in sync with the trunk.
Please merge changes from trunk into your dev branch at least on a
weekly basis, otherwise things will get messy in the end.
Before committing code from the dev branch into the trunk, please
contact this mailing list (unless your changes are trivial or simple bug
fixes). A summary for a best practice is noted here ("best" meaning "to
my best knowledge today")
