This might be interesting for the Mapbender print module.
In GeoServer 2.0.x there is a new vendor specific parameter "ANGLE",
MapServer has included this in its trunk.

Hi,
at the New York Sprint [1], developers of MapServer and GeoServer got
together, which (among other improvements) led to a new vendor param for
WMS requests: ANGLE [2] [3]. This allows for requesting rotated maps.
The value that the ANGLE param expects is an angle in decimal degrees,
with 0 pointing North and increasing in clockwise direction.
Using this feature would improve print output in the MapFish print
module, because labels on rotated WMS maps would not be rotated any
more, improving readability and style of the resulting print image.
Does anybody have interest and resources to implement this?
