Hi Tim. We have no implementation in the current release of Mapbender. There was no funding yet and only a kind of tentative need. Although the implementation of the Geoportal-DE might have some code and the predecessor "Mapbender2".
I guess the implementation should be fairly clear if you can agree on a format (DC vs. ISO/INSPIRE). Another solution is the MetaSearch plugin in QGIS Desktop.
