Hi Huub, I'm not sure how OpenLayers handles that. You might want to ask that in the OpenLayers mailing lists.
But keep in mind the following hints for creating responsive maps: - use tiled layers only if you have some caching capabilities on your server (like TileCache or the new GeoServer 1.5 with caching enabled) - group layers that will not be controlled by the user into single map images to reduce the number of stacked map images Regards, Andreas.
