Very strange, Mapserver should be able to reproject data as long as the 
correct projection definitions are available. You might want to take 
this issue to the Geoserver people as well.

Actually the functionality has been increased, but since it also has 
been refactored it might be a bit hard to find it.

gives you the projection library for 41001
objRef.proj.Inverse(point) gives your point in lat/lon
