Sorry for that, it was a mistake to send it before I had finshied writing..
Hello again, I have installed firebug now, tanks for that tips,
It will probably be helpful for many tasks.
I have tried the Tasmania demo a little more, Most of the time
I can insert a city, reload the page, insert one more and so on,
But after a randomly number of times I get the error message about the
..fix file. When I look in firebug it is empty under the post tab, I cant
See any request there.
In the Tomcat log I find requests that look like this:
07 dec 10:41:52 INFO [geoserver.wfs] -
Request: transaction
handle = null
service = WFS
version = 1.1.0
baseUrl = http://localhost:8080/geoserver/
lockId = null
group =
[net.opengis.wfs:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(feature: [Feature[ id=fid-3b302952_116b3ee9f98_-7ff2 , the_geom=MULTIPOINT
(145.72209583333336 -42.9182) , CITY_NAME=c16 , ADMIN_NAME=Tasmania ,
CNTRY_NAME=Australia , STATUS=Provincial capital , POP_CLASS= ]], handle:
null, idgen: <unset>, inputFormat: <unset>, srsName: null)]
insert = [EMAIL PROTECTED]
(feature: [Feature[ id=fid-3b302952_116b3ee9f98_-7ff2 , the_geom=MULTIPOINT
(145.72209583333336 -42.9182) , CITY_NAME=c16 , ADMIN_NAME=Tasmania ,
CNTRY_NAME=Australia , STATUS=Provincial capital , POP_CLASS= ]], handle:
null, idgen: <unset>, inputFormat: <unset>, srsName: null)]
update = []
delete = []
native = []
releaseAction = ALL
But no request is written either in firebug or in tomcat log file when the
error occurs. The first time I insert a point I also get an error response
from geoserver, looking like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ows:ExceptionReport version="1.0.0"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.opengis.net/ows
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/schemas/ows/1.0.0/owsExceptionReport
.xsd"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:ows="http://www.opengis.net/ows">
<ows:Exception exceptionCode="MissingParameterValue" locator="request">
<ows:ExceptionText>Could not determine geoserver request
from http request
[EMAIL PROTECTED]</ows:ExceptionText>
</ows:Exception>
</ows:ExceptionReport>
Then next time I insert a point I usually dont get that error, but even the
first point seems to be added as it should be.
My thougt is that some process perhaps hold the .fix file when geoserver
tries to update/overwrite it, what do you think?

Re debugging mapbuilder:
I suggest you install the "firebug" extension to mapbuilder. It provides
a console window which allows you to see each POST/GET message and the
response.
There are debugging tips in the Mapbuilder wiki. I don't have access to
the internet at the moment, but I think it is linked from the tutorial page.
