Just to clarify,

I am not against computation in MapCSS.  binding variables, real data 
structures, and being able to define and run functions would all be great.  
But, the only way to make it possible to parallelise running this stuff over a 
huge number of objects is to have a declarative, referentially transparent 
style, which guarantees no state collision mess.
