i've compiled and tested ogr provider - for postgis and oracle spatial support - in linux using gdal 1.4.0. as far as i can tell there is no insert/update/delete capabilities.
i have also tested ogr provider and fdopostgis in winXP and those capabilities do not seem to be present there, either. Mateusz, is this a correct evaluation of fdopostgis? also, will fdopostgis be made available for linux? i took a look at the source code and it seems to be windows-specific (mind you, my dev strengths are not c/c++). perhaps i've missed something somewhere along the line - is there an fdo provider that has more than read-only capabilities for postgis? can someone confirm that this is actually the case? are there plans to add insert/update/delete capabilities to the postgis -capable providers? i'd love to help out (or be a guinea pig), in any manner i can, as this would be incredibly useful for me and, from the sounds of it, for others as well. -- larry Kenneth, GEOGRAF A/S wrote: > My experiments with OGR, shows that PostGIS does accept that you set the > READOLY to "false". > It is required to be false, if there are no spatial tables in the database. > > I haven't tried to actually create or update anything though. > Also, I tried this with GDAL 1.4.1, and Traian made the provider with > 1.4.0 (afaik). > > Regards, Kenneth, GEOGRAF A/S -- larry white Senior Systems Analyst Neomatix Corporation email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] url: www.neomatix.ca _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
