There is a plugable module for Apache that will run .Net with the Mono engine.
I belive that others are using PHP for development.

You will probably not get integrated debugging on an Apache server from Visual Studio.
So: yes and no.

Use different ports...eg IIS on port 80 and Mapguide on 8008.

User Account Control is wonderful for most users, however for most
people doing development/support work it simply gets in the way. I had
already turned mine off long before I got around to loading Mapguide.

I've got MapGuide Server (1.2 RC2) running on Vista (32 bit). I used the self extracting executable for windows and installed with Apache/PHP. I ran into and fixed one glitch while installing the samples to test the program on Vista. Because MapGuide is installed in Program Files the all too annoying user permissions start to kick and scream in protest. I had to allow all permissions for my administrative

account within Program Files and then run the zip program in the Windows

XP mode to open the sample files before I could get them installed. Eventually I just had to turn all of the User Account Controls off so that I could properly load data. I know that Vista is trying to be /secure/ but their User Account Controls just give me headaches on a regular basis. I would suggest that anyone having trouble with a Vista installation regardless of which web server or programing language you are using try turning off User Account Controls and giving it another swing. Good luck!

I do. 64bit too. Mapguide Studio will NOT work with the 64 bit
though.

You don't have to use the same machine.
In the webconfig.ini, you can specify IP and port mappings for the
server.

Does anyone have a working MapGuide Server on Vista?

I have just installed Mapguide Studio 2008 on my bran new Vista Ultimate And it works fine.
Didn't try to install Mapguide Server
I have a vmware virtual machine that runs windows 2003 with mapguide server on it.

With this configuration, i got everything running, it's even faster having mapguide server on a virtual machine than on the same machine.

Don't know why?

Hello,

Just for information, Vista doesn't support Mapguide Server (any of

version). It's problem with IIS 7.0.

Also, Mapguide Studio 2008 (2007 work's perfectly) doen't work on this platform.

I hope so that this compatibility issue will be solved in futer version od Mapguide Server and Studio.
