I am working on the CELL processor for an academic project, and unfortunately there does not exist tools to automatically utilize the CELL processor with a conventional program. Running Linux on the CELL is only utilizing the PowerPC component. The problem is that the CELL processor can run VERY fast, but only if the 8 support processors are utilized fully, but the program has to specially structured to utilize the processors.

In short, it would probably be very easy to get it up and running, but you will not gain much performance.
