After saving the layer in MapGuide Studio, select the menu "File" and "Save as xml..."
The file it saves is the internal representation of the MapDefinition.

You can open this file with almost any text editor (plain text only, no MS Word).
You can use notepad if you like.

Somewhere in the file will be a an xml entry called <FiniteScales>.
In this entry you can hand modify the scales.
After you are done, you can reinsert the MapDefintion into the MapGuide server.

Open a browser with:
http://localhost/mapguide/mapagent/index.html
Select "Resource", the "SetResource"

To the right, enter the resourceID you want to save the map under.
Browse the file as the "Content" item.
Leave the "Header" blank.
Press submit.

You will now have updated/create a MapDefintion in the server.

You should export map .xml definition file, correct scales by hand, then
re-import changed .xml file to the MG server using web tier test
application. I guess there's a change request for MG Studio regarding this
one.

Dear Maksim

Do you have any information about generating consistent set of scales?

Dear all,

I'm using MGE 2008 with MapGuide Studio 2008, and I'm new to Base Layers
concept.

I created one Base Layer with a raster Layer in it. Then I set the
nearest Zoom In (250), farthest Zoom Out (50000) and total number of
scales (10) parameters. End result is autogenerated set of scales. When I run this map in Web browser I can zoom only to scales matching the
ones in BaseLayer's autogenerated scale list.

The question is - how do I change single scale in (auto)generated scale
list? I.e. I want to have consistent, geodetic set of scales as in 100,
250, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, ... 50000. Is it doable with MGS at
all?

With kindest regards,
Maksim Sestic
