You can also edit the local ProviderEditorMap.xml file to comment out
the custom data provider screen. With Studio 2007, I think you also
have to make it not hide the SDF provider from the data connection list.
Make a backup first, and be aware that this is not a "supported"
solution :)

You can get around it, by editing the providers.xml file on the server
and create two
entries for the SHP provider, naming one "OSGeo.SHPextra.3.3.1".
