Hi Keith, The repository is (are) stored in a DBXML database. Like all databases, backing them up when they are in use can leave you with an inconsistent database state, or possibly even prevent backup entirely because of locked files. I _believe_ that if you shut down the MapGuide service before taking your filesystem-level backup you would be OK, but my experience with other databases has been that it's typically better to use the provided database backup/restore functions.
