IIS6 supports saving web site/virtual directory configurations to xml files by right-clicking the website/vdir node and choosing (All Tasks -> Save configuration to a file)
You can then load this configuration into another web site/virtual directory by right clicking and choosing (New -> Web Site (from file)) or (New -> Virtual Directory (from file)). Through this you should be able to effectively "clone" whole web sites and/or virtual directories. Have you tried this? - Jackie Gunter Becker wrote: > > Hi, > > I try to setup the mapguide virtual directory under my WebApplication root > in IIS 6 on my development server (Windows Server 2003) so that it looks > like this: > > http://localhost/myWebApplication/mapguide > > On our production server it works fine when I manually add the mapguide > virtual directory to a new WebSite (http://www.myWebSite.com/mapguide) but > on the development server I can't login to MapGuide Administration and > also can't see the map even though the Ajax-Viewer appears. > > So it seems to me that there is a limit in having multiple mapguide > virtual directorys on one IIS WebSite (Default WebSite). > > My intention is to have the same application configuration on development > and production server so that I can use relative paths for the start task > in WebLayout or the element URL in LayerDefinition.
