With this application you can import different type of map file, including SHP.

Subject: [mapguide-users] how to load shp file in opensource

Hi!

I am currently working with mapguide open source 1.2.0. Now in this we have
inbuilt studio available from where we need to load the shp file right? But
my problem is i am unable to create even a folder in that WebStudio.... How
do i proceed? do i have to convert this .shp file to .mgp? If yes then how
do i convert it? Please help me out in this.

Thank!
Swetha
