Hi,
Thks Dave,Yestersday i figured it out about Driver Name Change and i changed it
to Oracle in instantclient10_2 in the connection string but without any
success.
I have around 30,000 Records in a Oracle table with Lat ,Lon and other
pertinent readings in the table and the readings use to get updated every 2
hours or upon some event fired. Can you tell me what will be the better idea
keeping in mind performance to go with -
1. Create DSN using Oracle ODBC Driver
2. Try to connect using Oracle Microsoft Driver after installing Oracle Client
on the Server.
Or do u have any other suggestions or ideas !!
Thks
Max

odbc connection)
The connection string option does not work. A defect internal to Autodesk has
already been logged regarding this. As well when using the instant client your
Driver name must change to reflect the instant client you are using “Oracle in
instantclient10_2” would be the correct name, however even with that change it
still doesn’t work. Resolution of the TNSNAMES is not likely the issue based on
testing we have done.
The only option that works is to create a DSN wherever your server is installed.

Dave

Subject: [mapguide-users] Connection Problem-ORACLE ODBC Driver(configure odbc
connection)
Hi All,
I am using MGOS 1.2 and Map Guide Studio2008, I am trying to
connect to Oracle Database 10.1.0 and i installed Oracle instant
client-10.2.0.2 on my machine i.e. MapGuide Server, I also succesully installed
oracle odbc driver-win32 10.2.0.3 in order to configure ODBC connection using
Oracle(Oracle Driver) in the MapGuide Studio.
I also set the PATH variable to oracle instant client directory as well as also
defined ORACLE_HOME and TNS_ADMIN as system variable.
I tried the connection string in th studio as follows -
Driver={Oracle ODBC Driver};Dbq=Database Name;Uid=xxx;Pwd=yyyy;
I also tried to use the another connection setting if it unable to get the
values from tnsnames.ora hence i tried
Driver={Oracle ODBC Driver};Dbq=10.X.X.X:1521/abcd;Uid=xxx;Pwd=yyyy;
but i unable to connect to oracle and getting the FDO Error-An Exception
Occured in FDO component.RDBMS:No Current open Database but the same database i
can connect using the Fdo2Fdo Tools,Any kind of help will be really helpfull
for me.
