The SL-King version uses the open source MsSqlSpatial.

There is also a native FDO provider for the new MS SQL Spatial 2008,
available for FDO 3.2.3 and 3.3.0 (MGOS 1.2 and 2.0):

ies

I've been testing this version, and it appears to be fairly
feature-complete. I would suggest that it will eventually see more
usage than the open source version, but that's a personal opinion.

It will be the SL-King version:

Are there better providers for MapGuide?

Next version will hopefully have custom PostGIS, OGR and MSSql
Spatial providers.

For "MSSql Spatial Providers" you mean the MS version or the
OpenSource version (http://www.codeplex.com/MsSqlSpatial)?
