The SL-King version uses the open source MsSqlSpatial.
There is also a native FDO provider for the new MS SQL Spatial 2008, available for FDO 3.2.3 and 3.3.0 (MGOS 1.2 and 2.0): http://fdo.osgeo.org/content/fdo-323-downloads#3.2.3_sqlserver_win_binar ies http://fdo.osgeo.org/content/fdo-330-downloads#3.3.0_sqlserver_win_binar ies http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FdoSQLServerSpatialNotes I've been testing this version, and it appears to be fairly feature-complete. I would suggest that it will eventually see more usage than the open source version, but that's a personal opinion.
