AFAIK, Studio is trying to determine if any resources depend on the
featuresource, before deleting it.
Unfortunately, it does so by getting an actual list of dependent
resources, which is very slow.
I think the call is ENUMERATERESOURCEREFERENCES.
I think the only way to speed up the call is by having a smaller repository.
In any case, I think there is a Studio forum on the Autodesk pages, you
might want to try posting your question there.
