Hi, In the release notes for 2.0.1 (http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/Release/2.0/Notes) there is a note in the API section about a change. Perhaps that is the source of the schema validation error.
Also, did you start with a symbol definition and modify it? If so, perhaps we should update that source symbol definition if it is public.
