Unfortunately, I don't think that MapGuide currently handles left-to-right languages properly. There is an enhancement request for this (submitted by Traian) and a way forward, but he hasn't had a chance to implement it: http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/271 <http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/271> I'd suggest adding your use case to the ticket. I want to know if mapguide is able to handle Arabic-Farsi(Persian) and Hebrew correctly. In these languages letter join to each other to form a word not like others which letters are separate with no problem. also they are written right to left not left to right. This is an important point for labeling. in using mapguide for me this is very critical.
