Most databases do not allow direct editing of the table definition if the table
has data in it. The abilities vary. In general you usually have to create a new
instance and copy what you want to it.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Regarding -- Shape File Editor

Hi All,

I need to modify some of the attributes of the shape file. My requirement is
that I want to add, modify, and delete the columns in shape file.
Also I need to edit the data associated with these columns.

I downloaded the FDO Toolbox but in this tool I am unable to edit the data
value of any column.

Please suggest if anybody knows any freeware or open source software tool.

I am using Maestro, asp.net, c#, MGOS.

Thanks & Regards,
Ravinder
