Thanks for the reply Dave.

I checked the location you specified and there is a folder in there named
mapviewerphp, so I guess that answers the first part of the question, I have
the php version installed.

Does that bring me closer to getting step 5 from the instructions to work and
the viewer and map to display?

PS. Where did I say anything about apache?

Check your www folder in your Web Extensions install. the mapviewerXXX will
tell you which API you installed. I'm guessing if you are running apache you
probably installed PHP. If you didn't things probably won't work.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Launch Sample Application error

Hi guys, long time listener, first time caller.

I'm new to mapguide and I've followed the steps laid out in
http://mapguide.osgeo.org/sites/mapguide.osgeo.org/files/GettingStarted.pdf

Everything seems to go swimmingly, I realised the .mgp was being renamed to
.zip and I rename that. I proceed to step 4 and load the package successfully,
great, then when I go to step 5 (go to the link:
http://localhost:8008/mapguide/phpviewersample/ajaxtiledviewersample.php) I get
a 404 error.

To try and investigate what I'm doing wrong I browse to Web Studio. In there I
can see the various layers of Sheboygan, they all seem to have loaded
correctly. It just seems as though the viewer isn't working correctly. What
might I be missing for this final step not to work but everything else
apparently loading correctly?

Also, I can't remember whether I installed php or asp, where do I look to
check? Secondly, lots of people talk about logging out of the admin agent and
restarting the server/service. How do I go about this?

I'm running XP 64 with IE 7, MapGuide open source 2.0.2 and I am just trying to
test this locally.

Any clues or suggestions of silly things I've missed would be greatly
appreciated. No one else on the forum seems to have quite the same problem I
have, with the final step failing.

Regards,
Andrew Barker
