I was thinking of the FDO connection pool,
but I cannot determine anything by looking at the serverconfig values.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I have added some details from my server setup. Do these numbers look ok?

General Properties TCP/IP maximum transmission unit: 1460 Connection timeout (seconds): 120
Connection timer interval (seconds): 60

Client Connection Properties Maximum connections: 100
Maximum queued operations: 40
Maximum threads in pool: 20

Site Connection Properties Maximum connections: 20
Maximum queued operations: 20
Maximum threads in pool: 10

Thanks

Durrrr

It sounds as if you are exhausting some resource.
One guess is that you are maxing out your connectionpool, so the FDO provider locks up. Another possibility is that your provider is using too many filehandles, and then stops working. For both the possibilities, try limiting the number of connection pool entries in the serverconfig.ini, and see if the problem gets better or worse (raising the limit is likely a bad solution).

Hi,
We are having a great deal of difficulties with the consistency of
layers,
points and searches on our map.
It seems works perfectly 10 times but then suddenly things stop working
such
as search's or suddenly the map wont display at all. Because these issues are intermittent i can think of no other explanation other than slow network\Server. Currently we have a map with 55 layers (os, raster, point, line) it is
running on a Windows server using Apache, we have a seperate server for
our
maps and it is being viewed over the internet. If anyone can help or suggest anything i would appreciate it!
(I am relativly new to the whole mapping development role so simplified
questions are appreciated!) Thanks in advance
