Either in the system path or the bin directory will work for the dll's. The data you posted shows a "local" projection being used. What projection is your map and what are the images in?

The only thing I wasn't sure of was where to put the "msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll"s...I tried first in the bin then fdo (starting/stopping service everytime) with the same sad result. So, still no ECW, no errors in log. The only change is in the bebug screen, I now see this new info: ECW: NCScbmOpenFileView(C:\DATA\ECW_2007/Cornwall_10cm_20-1.ecw): eErr = 0 ECW: FileInfo: SizeXY=153640,95020 Bands=3 OriginXY=511637,4.993e+006 CellIncrementXY=0.1,-0.1 ECW: projection=LOCAL, datum=WGS84 GDAL: GDALOpen(C:\DATA\ECW_2007/Cornwall_10cm_20-1.aux, this=10663008) succeeds as HFA. GDAL: GDALClose(C:\DATA\ECW_2007/Cornwall_10cm_20-1.aux, this=10663008) GDAL: GDALOpen(C:\DATA\ECW_2007/Cornwall_10cm_20-1.ecw, this=0FD77008) succeeds as ECW. ECWDataset: RasterIO(0,0,153640,95020 -> 282x282) - doing interleaved read. I'm encouraged to see the OriginXY showing up, but discouraged by the lack of actual map. I'll try playing a bit more, but if I can't get this to work, I'll have to downgrade to v2.02.
