It seems that you specified the symbol's size in device units (in Maestro, Size context : Device space). Use "Map space" instead for the size context of your symbol.

range and changing the symbol to be larger for each scale range, but I just
want to make sure there is no other options.
I don't understand why the line layer zooms correctly (when zooming in, the
line scales bigger) and the point layer doesn't scale.
