Hi Jon,
I had this problem too. Open Task Manager to see if mgserver is
running as a process. Also check your services list to see if the
MapGuide server service is running. Try starting it if it isn't.
"Cannot establish connection" is usually a symptom of the service not
running. Hope this helps.
