i'm not sure if the 2.2 you tried was a debug build... i am just another user of mapguide afterall!
there was some fdo fixes for bad data in fdo 3.5 which might affect things a little tho 2.2 should definately be more stable than 1.1 refresh my memory about which fdo providers your using?
