Hi Andrew,

If you remove the GDAL plugin dll for ECW, it should only pick up MrSid. I
haven't tried an either/or install but I would be surprised if both had to be
there.

Thanks Trevor - that's where I got my instructions from...I just double checked
the gdal16.dll version number that comes with 2.2, and it's the same as the one
listed on that site - the other files all came from there...I'll give it a 3rd
try a bit later today, maybe. One question - just to be 100% clear, I shouldn't
have to touch the providers.xml file, right? The gdal is listed in there, by
default - using GRFPProvider.dll...which is correct, as I understand it.

Also, is there a way to use just the mrsid plugin? It seemed like I had to use
both sid and ecw, in order to avoid errors about missing dlls....do they have
to both be installed? I'm mainly just interested in mrsid....

Hi Andrew,

Are the DLL versions the same as posted on
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/MGOS21GdalProvider? The libraries that
worked with 2.1 should work with 2.2 since we have not changed the version of
GDAL between the 2.1 and 2.2 releases.

I was able to get MrSID and ECW to appear successfully. The map and imagery
coordinate systems were the same in my case.

Regards,
Trevor

I'm trying to get the gdal plugins for mrsid installed on MGOS 2.2 RC1. Since
there aren't any instructions for 2.2 yet, I'm just using the method for
2.1...It's sort of working, only it has the effect of completely killing the
MGOS service when you try to view a mrsid layer. I've run it in debug mode, and
this is what I get:

(5936) Server starting...
(5936) Mentor Coordinate System Library

From here, I can't do anything - can't end the program without closing the cmd
prompt. It's completely frozen. This also stops all activity on the MGOS server
- you can't do anything with anything (layers, layouts, dataconnections,
etc)....Any suggestions?

Andrew
