Hi Andrew, If you remove the GDAL plugin dll for ECW, it should only pick up MrSid. I haven't tried an either/or install but I would be surprised if both had to be there.

One question - just to be 100% clear, I shouldn't have to touch the providers.xml file, right? The gdal is listed in there, by default - using GRFPProvider.dll...which is correct, as I understand it. Also, is there a way to use just the mrsid plugin? It seemed like I had to use both sid and ecw, in order to avoid errors about missing dlls....do they have to both be installed?
