Hi All, I've put up the first test build of Maestro 3.0 for download
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/maestro/MapGuide%20Maestro%203.0.0.5311%20test1.zip I'll preface all of this with your standard warning: HERE BE DRAGONS! THIS BUILD SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ALPHA-QUALITY AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR TESTING PURPOSES AND FEEDBACK. DO NOT USE THIS ON PRODUCTION MAPGUIDE SERVERS! With that out of the way and your knowledge/acceptance of the above fact when testing this build, here's a summary of some of the new cool stuff in Maestro 3.0: - Specialized editors for - Print Layout - Drawing Source - Support for DWF and SQLite Load Procedures (SQLite load procedures only available in MGOS 2.2/MGE 2011) - Support for previewing resources, whether in the specialized editor or the Generic XML editor - Multi-selection support for the Site Explorer. Yes, you can now finally copy/cut/delete/validate *multiple* resources at once! - Ability to create new resources in specific versions of their respective xsd schema. - Support for browsing DWF symbol libraries - View outbound http requests made by the site connection - Drag and drop support - Drag/drop SDF/SHP/SQLite files to create feature sources with these files embedded - Drag/drop XML documents to create the corresponding resource - Enhanced resource validation - WebLayout - Check for duplicate command names - Check for orphaned menu items - Check for duplicate property references in search commands - Load Procedure - Check for non-existent source files - Warn about unsupported options in Maestro - Redundant messages are discarded from the final result - Local Feature Source Preview is now a separate application (MaestroFsPreview.exe) Note that Maestro 3.0 is still lacking some features from 2.x as they are still in the process of being ported over: - MgCooker - Official MapGuide API support - Custom user resource templates - Raster layer editor - Package editor - Server statistics monitor - Fusion editor - Specialized feature source editors for other providers - Possibly others Some other general notes when testing this build: - Found a bug? Ask yourself: Did this bug exist in Maestro 2.x, and hence is a known problem? - Similarly, that Maestro 2.x issue you filed in Trac some time ago: Has it been fixed or successfully worked around with this build? - So generally speaking, it really helps to have an existing installation of Maestro 2.x on hand (current release being 2.1.4) as a baseline comparison to whether something has been fixed or broken. - All existing Maestro tickets will be re-targeted to the maestro-3.0 milestone For those on non-Windows systems: Sorry, this build doesn't currently work properly in Mono due to some nasty XML serialization bugs. This will be addressed in future builds. Of course, general feedback is always welcome - Jackie -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/Maestro-3-0-test-build-1-tp5657585p5657585.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
