Lee, Sorry I misunderstood. Just to save another one, basically you need to programically add a new layer (layer data comes from oracle) to the current map?
If so does the new layer need to be created each time or can you have a generic layer and just modify as needed? I have a number of sites where I have generic layer setup using Studio/Maestro (I find it easier to setup a layer with a GUI rather then playing with XML/classes) & I set the query to Primary_key=-1. This means all I have to do is modify the filter (and sometimes name/style) and then add it to the map for that session.
