Not sure if you have found the answers yet, but the simple answer is yes, but you need to set up properly. See:
https://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FdoWmsNotes#Example You will probably have to tweak some of the files in C:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Server\Wms to config for your coordinate system and bounding box area.
