If you are running on a "newer" machine you may also have to install .NET 3.5 Service Pack 1 to get .NET 2.0. It is possible that a fresh install of Windows with VS 2010 will not have .NET 2.0 installed. I don't have a new Windows 7 box around to try this out at the moment.
