I find myself in the same kind of problems.
MGOS 2.2 FDO 3.5 & Postgis.
Computing tiles causes MG to throw errors like this after few minutes:
After this kind of erros, the tiles are iether empty or with some layers
missing.

RDBMS: out of memory for query result
I found that having only valid geometires raises the stability but still the
error comes a bit later.
