If your repository is small enough, using packages is the simplest. Make a mgp of your current repository with the Site Administrator. Nuke the old installation, install the new one and load your mgp back in with the Site Administrator.
Otherwise, just backup the Server/Repositories directory of your 2.4 install and move it to a safe area. Nuke the 2.4 install, install 2.5 and then restore the Server/Repositories directory from your safe area. 2.4 and 2.5 use the same version of dbxml so your 2.5 mgserver should just pick up from where it left off. Or you can do the official way. Use the backup/restore scripts in Server/RepositoryAdmin. There's a MgOpenSourceRepositoryAdmin.pdf that explains how to use these scripts. For actual uninstallation of 2.4, best to use this script (https://svn.osgeo.org/mapguide/branches/2.4/Installer/scripts/mguninstallubuntu.sh) and then rm -rf whatever's remaining in /usr/local/mapguideopensource-2.4.0 and /usr/local/fdo-3.7.0 If you have any aliases defined, take note of them in the Site Administrator as you'll have to re-create them after the upgrade. - Jackie -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/How-to-remove-mapguide-os-tp5065793p5065937.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
