Similar to this? (using google maps): http://www.searates.com/reference/portdistance/ I guess it is somewhat complex to calculate these things. You need an accurate vector map of the world with all the ports and all possible waterways. Some ships might be too big to sail to specific ports or might have to take a different route than other ships etc.
