In a limited circulation e-mail of Friday 14 August (2009), Jürgen Espenhorst he of the famous 2-volume Petermanns Planet (2003: ISBN 3-930401-35-5 ; 2008: ISBN 978-3-930401-36-9) informs of the following:- 3. Umbenennung Pangaea Bis jetzt habe ich die meisten meiner Aktivitäten unter der Firmenbezeichnung Pangaea-Verlag durchgeführt. Das führt manchmal zu Missverständnissen. Ich werde daher ab 1.9. 2009 meine wissenschaftlichen und kommunikativen Aktivitäten unter einem neuen Begriff zusammenfassen: PANGAEA, Institut zur Erforschung der neueren Kartographiegeschichte (Pangaea-Institut). Davon getrennt laufen die verlegerischen Aktivitäten unter dem Begriff Pangaea-Verlag weiter. Or, in (my) rough translation:- Renaming of Pangaea Until now I have carried out most of my activities under the name Pangaea-Verlag. This has sometimes led to misunderstandings. Therefore from 1 September 2009 my scientific and communicative activities will be united under a new concept: PANGAEA, Institut zur Erforschung der neueren Kartographiegeschichte (Pangaea-Institut).
