If the online bibliography would be one that is sustainable, capable of
being updated, and associated with zoomable images, then that is what I
would do. That is as long as associated use fees are no worse than
buying the book, so is this going to be open-access, subscription, etc.?
When you say "cartobibliography" of 18th century geography books, I
assume you are focusing on the maps in those geography books. Also, some
of the same issues recently discussed re: developing quality online map
image sites should apply: http://www.maphistory.info/aboutim.html#hosts
. I think that you would likely reach a much larger audience by going
online, if quality issues can be met.

I need advice. For a cartobibliography of 18thc. geography books,
which is the better medium, print or on-line? I have the opportunity
to prick one or the other, but neither will do both.
