Hi! Has there been any discussion on the list as to how far one should go to "conserve"? As a collector who frequently shocks his restoration workshop by "improving" a map (or more usually, a book by discarding warped and torn covers and substituting new ones) the idea that a course on conservation at a university encourages "filling in the holes" (or have I read too much into the short description) surprises me.
